This was essentially the same airframe as the [[Electra|Lockheed 10-E]] flown by [[Earhart]], but it had two Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior SBs, each rated at 450 hp, as opposed to the 10-E, which was equipped with two R-1340 Wasp S3H1s, each rated at 600 hp.
