The official report of Captain Wilhelm L. Friedell is interesting because the logic he uses in deciding where the battleship, U.S.S. Colorado, should search for Earhart is identical to TIGHAR’s. It is also interesting to note that his description of what was seen on Gardner Island differs from that of [Lt. John O. Lambrecht], the man who did the searching – see Lambrecht's Report.
