Landing channel at low tide.
Nai'a offshore. Notice the person seated with his legs in the boat channel.

The landing channel (sometimes called the boat channel in some TIGHAR documents) has been blasted through the reef at its narrowest point, probably in the 1960s shortly before the colony was abandoned (1963).

In all likelihood, the blasted channel follows the traditional route taken by landing parties.

Landing beacon.
