Guess it just goes to show that when you get the proper exposure (enough to command a State Department press conference and funding by large well known companies), the different news services will use any hook to keep this in the news.  http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/07/13/amelia-earhart-beauty-case-found-new-clues-in-mystery/?intcmp=obnetwork.  This story is actually written in a positive (they just might have something there), versus the usual (author rolling eyes) slant that is typical of any theory other than the crashed and sank theory.
