Radio simulation and test

In your new member introduction, you wrote:

I want to do an on the ground radio simulation and test.  I have discussed it with some others in my circle, and they are ready.  In fact, we have all the equipment, expertise, and are discussing plans to do something.  Such a simulation and test could provide a great analytical benchmark to compare against.

Can you elaborate on the radio simulation and test that you envision, and the analytical benchmark that it could provide?
