Just wanted to touch base with all of you. Its definately been awhile since many of us have been on here and posted to the forum. Anyway, wanted to say that the Amelia Earhart Festival is this weekend and have a panel of speakers to highlight the two day event. I don't know how many of you may be going, but the panel consists of Dorthy Cochrane from Smithsonian Institution, Rod Blocksome, Gary LaPook, The Romeo brothers, and a list of other keynote speakers. I know us Tighars are big in our research, but the Romeo brothers will speak on Saturday morning to tell about the recent find and their upcoming expedition to Howland Island. Sounds like alot of fun and a good discussion overall. Hope to see you all there!!!

Good to hear from you, Randy.

The Forum was out of commission for a while, just as things were getting exciting about the White Ghost.

We're back now, as far as I can tell.

I've also restored the Ameliapedia, although you may have to do some editing if you have a stash of old links.

Our setup on this server is very different from what we used to have, so we have to live with ugly URLs.

I believe all of the content in the Forum and the Ameliapedia is still here.

Give my regards to Gary LaPook if you see him. We've said hello to each other on Facebook recently.

Martin...I ran into Gary this morning...told me to tell you hi! He also wanted me to ask Ric if he still loves him? Lol Gary appears to have aged some since seeing him last at the 75th Anniversary lecture in D.C. But he hasn't changed much and still sticks to the hard knocks that has made him the celestial guru to this day! Anyway, I wish the lecture would have gone longer...but it drew a really big crowd. I was going to attend the Romeo brothers seminar tomorrow but had no room for the night. Tony and his brothers are very knowledgeable and laid back. Made it fun to interact with them. They passed around cards for questions to be asked and boy did they get a handful. The one I was really impressed with was Liz Smith. Her knowledge had everyone thinking. She said this morning that Fred and Amelia are probably the only two people in the world to cross over into one day and then back into the last day...or as she put it She lived...She died....and then she lived again. Gary and Liz's knowledge was well accepted as the two went head to head with time and the international dateline. I recorded most of the conversation but wish I recorded the first part. Hoping you guys take videos...Let me know..thanks

I almost forgot to mention Bob Blocksome who is an integrated part of Nauticos. Bob has an overall genuine part of many underwater expeditions and has searched many areas in and around Howland Island. His theory on shapes and imaginative objects is not to be taken for granted. Another laid back type of guy who kinda is taken back that this is a plane or not. Dorothy Cochrane from the Smithsonian and Karen Seaburg from Amelia Aviation Hangar were also present in today's lecture.
