All

Here is an event that will be well worth attending if you can.

The 7th International Wreckchasing Symposium
September 24-25, 2016
Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum  http://pwam.org
Pueblo, Colorado

See this link
http://www.wreckchasing-symposium.com

This Symposium is being organized by the AvAr (Aviation Archaeology) group within the Colorado Aviation Historical Society, and promises to be an extremely interesting and informative event with many presentations on aviation archaeology projects being pursued throughout the country and beyond.

TIGHAR's own Ric Gillespie, Tom King, and Walt Holm will be giving separate presentations, and there will be many other TIGHARs including myself in attendance.

The Museum will be closed to the public this weekend, so the Symposium will have the run of the place to ourselves.  Certainly an unusual opportunity to get up close and personal with vintage aircraft.  Last time I was there, Walt and I got to crawl through the inside of the B-29 from tail to nose, an amazing experience.  Not sure they'll let everyone do that this time, but...

September is a great time to come to Colorado, and the PWAM is on of the most interesting aviation museums, so put those dates on the calendar and start planning your stay in beautiful Pueblo, or at least enjoying some local Colorado brews.

See you under (or maybe even inside) the B-29...

Who is planning to attend this symposium? Their website says they have a limit of 150 people in the museum. I will register now.

What are Tom, Ric and Walt planning to speak about? I can hazard a guess but specifics would be great.

I imagine Tom will speak about archaeology.  I'll speak about historical investigation. I imagine Walt will talk about ROVs.

From link in top post:

....advance reservations are strongly suggested. The cost of attendance is

                                         only $30.00 per person

-- with advance reservations -- for the entire weekend. This includes admittance, refreshments, and lunch for both days.
Wow!!! The price looks like something out of the long distant past, it should book out quickly.

Have a great weekend.

How many of us will be in Pueblo? It looks like a very interesting opportunity.

Looking forward to wearing TIGHAR shirts,

Searching the couch cushions for change....650 miles, 1300 round trip, 3 tanks of gas from Northern Utah, there's got to be a way....

Friday night TIGHAR reception in Pueblo: business attire? TIGHAR shirts?

Thanks,

Well I'd say this symposium will be pretty casual, so not business attire.

TIGHAR shirts would be appropriate.

The couches have been searched, the coat pockets emptied out, and the cat will be increasing his diet of free-range mice!  :D

See everyone next Friday night in Pueblo!

Great!  I'll see if I can find some freeze-dried mice you can take home with you.  I can't handle the guilt.

Or you could send him some of those bats in the barn!
