What is this about? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??

The subject of the post is "posting practice."

This is in the board called "Extraneous Exchanges," which is part of the Chatterbox.

The description of the Chatterbox reads, "Personal remarks, commentary, humor, asides, miscellany.  A great place to make test posts and to practice using the forum system.  A catch-all for what doesn't fit in the other boards."

So I think he was practicing posting and seeing how a link turned out.

Maybe.

I think if one had copied and pasted that link having clicked on it, it could have turned into a chain letter.

Great idea!  I still don't know how to make those cute little blue boxes with the name over the quote inside.
Of course I haven't tried real hard because I didn't want to mess up a post.

So on the subject, how od I do that?

...

.. how do I do that?

Press the "quote" button instead of the "reply" button when reading a post you want to quote.

Then you should learn how to trim quoted material so that we don't end up with posts that duplicate the entire thread within nested quotations.
