Hi Richie, looks like you have found Wilson's, long lost cousin buried in the sand off Niku! Wilson from the movie (cast away). Seems his cuz is a orange and white soccer ball...  :D ... An aluminium plane on edge of reef, with tidal wave action, of which is seen at many south pacific islands

There is a good chance your going to get wreckage anywhere along reef face, So i find it best to post what we find than over look it  :)

Absolutely!!!! Agreed!!! It's just amazing how much the object resembles a soccer ball 3/4 buried. I could not resist the "Wilson" comment.  Happy new Year!!!!!

Did u see many star fish in the Rov footage ?

No star fish.  Lots of sea anemone skeletons just like the "pocket watch."

Just wanted to share an image with ye all, Without starting another thread

This is my image of 2012 Tighar related.

And whenever a doubt comes into my mind, This is the image i look at to make it disappear

99% of Tighar disagree with me the object in circle is the shadow of a plane.

But i believe otherwise  ;)

Not that I saw, but I can put up more of that dive video.  Lord knows what you guys will see.

Is the Nessie object really that close to the reef edge as annotated on the map in the original thread post?

The red X in the attached KAP (Kite Aerial Photography) photo of the reef edge shows exactly - as best we can calculate - where the object was in relation to the reef edge.  The photo was taken in 2007 at nearly low tide.

One thing that struck me looking at this image was the lines that can be seen at the 4 oclock position to the red X. Is it possible that these line are drag marks from something heavy being dragged over the reef edge. Like a broken strut end? They are very strait and I see them no where else. Just throwing this out for consideration.

Sharp eyes and a good thought Peter, but in looking at other KAP photos of the reef I can see similar marks that are clearly not associated with Nessie.  I think we're looking at cracks that develop in the reef surface.

Thanks for posting the reef picture Ric.  The reef edge does seem like an area of extreme wave forces and a spot where lightweight objects could not stay long unless hung up or tied down.
Interesting there may be a crack so close to Nessie.
From your observations do you think those cracks are big enough to drive a stake into to? Possibly in an attempt to tie down the object?

I don't recall noticing them when I was walking on the reef but from the KAP photos I would guess that they might be 4 to 6 inches wide.

I would think you would need to be very careful while walking on the reef. My shoe would easily go down into a 6 inch wide crack and possibly be caught there. ???

Even tripping and skinning your knee can cause serious infection.
