I don't see the similarity. The second artifact has been identified.  See The Knob That Wasn't

I see the similarity - but the clips on the fire extinguisher rack end in pins that rotate.  The artifact was welded or soldered rigidly to something.

Not sure if I should post here or not...

Artifact # 2-6-S-46 (loop)

S.W.A.G. -  This is a locking device that would have been used on wooden crates/boxes.  Usually, these boxes or crates were for ammunition.  The top of box would have wire around the perimeter, and the sides would have these loops (which start off straight up), then you place the top on the crate, the straight "loops" go through the wired perimeter top, and then they are bent over to lock/secure the top.
