What would a psychic have to do to "succeed" in locating a missing person or object?

Summoning all my physic ability I will give my prediction using all the usual ambiguity that a true physci would use:

I see a plane.  I see water.  I see the plane missing their intended destination. 

Thats all I got, then unexplically my great physic insight was broken.  I believe it had something to do with a thing called reality but can't be sure...
