The main thing I want to avoid is confusion about which tracks TIGHAR considers to be the Main Line.  I'm not sure how to do that.  Suggestions welcome.

It is possible to lock and pin a topic.

Only moderators could post in the locked topic.

Having it pinned means that it would stay toward the top of any board.

We have five pinned (but not locked) topics in the "General discussion" board of the "Amelia Earhart Search Forum."  The titles for those five topics are in bold and there is a thumbtack next to each one, showing that it is pinned to the top of he board.
