I've just learned that the grandson of polar explorer Richard Byrd is organizing an effort to recover the remains of a Fokker Universal wrecked and abandonned during his famous relative's initial Antarctic expedition 80 years ago. It's interesting to note that this little plane was the first to land on Earth's seventh continent...
