Good morning from Washington. I am planning on "attempting" to do a photo play by play using my camera, my iPad, Picassa web site and hotel Internet.

I hope this won't conflict with anything the organizers are doing. I will post a new topic shortly with the link to the photos.

I suppose this means I need to come downstairs ... but then, you'd need to buy a new camera after that one imploded for "unknown reasons."

Hi Monty. Yes come downstairs. I can always make sure the lens cap is on.  I'm having coffee in the Mez restaurant on same level as symposium.

The answer is (likely, or maybe only possibly) in the Naval Observatory Records, "1923-1943 (Entry 14 Record Group 78, 103 feet)"  and are sub-classified in some way I have not had experience with.

John

Where exactly are these records supposed to be?

I'm no longer in DC, but if these records are there, we can surely get someone to go look at them.

I've enjoyed reading about the symposium this morning - and thank you, Irv, for the pictures! I so wish I could have been there to see all the exhibits (got chills looking at the aluminum pieces) and meet some of you in person.
It makes me look forward to the upcoming expedition and reports form Niku even more.

thanks all for your comments and information!

Tim---with all the cameras around---I would think so! Might call Pat and ask about it.

Thanks, maybe I'll just do that. I would think there could be quite a bit of $$ mileage to be had from a DVD of the proceedings. Next best thing to being there!

Was a video made of the symposium?

Every session was taped by a professional producer and TIGHAR member (Mark Smith).

What can or will be done with the tapes remains to be seen.

Pat and Ric are undoubtedly preoccupied at present with the KoK expedition.  I don't know whether Mark is going along, but I would be rather surprised if he isn't.

In other words, there may be a DVD some day, but not soon.  I suppose that if there is a professional reading this who is willing to donate time to edit the tapes, or if there is a benefactor willing to fund the professional editing of the tapes, that might speed up the process.  But if you are, like me, just hoping that someone else will make the investment and do the work, then we will just have to wait with patience until that happens.

You may be sure that if TIGHAR produces a DVD, by one means or another, it will be announced here and elsewhere, more than once.   ;D

Very interesting comments today in the Niku VII daily report about the previous ROV video. Check it out.
