As a courtesy to other forum posters it's a good idea to make sure you have your facts straight and to review previous postings to make sure you're not re-plowing old ground.

And, as a further courtesy to others, as well as an aid to your own understanding, you should capture the URL of the page that contains the material you want to discuss and then insert the URL of that page in your post.

This is really the only way that other readers can double-check the claims you are making--by reading the same passages that you have read.

Sounds like Pancho Barnes was a "legend in her own mind".  3 hours at...say 150mph...is a bit more than "200 miles out".  AE was looking for Howland!  North and South on the LOP....or any place to land!
