Good Morning Tighars and Tigharettes!!! I was on Facebook yesterday and scrolled by the "Chasing Earhart" page. This is an awesome page and website. Has alot of podcasts from our very own Ric Gillepsie and other known researchers. Anyway, yesterday they posted a picture of Fred Noonan taking sights through the window. Above the window I noticed that Amelia and Fred had a chart or board with Longitude and Latitude headings. With this said...Does anyone know more about this?

Interesting...the position puts it in the Pacific nowhere close to their flight lines at the time.  On June 20, the travelers were either on their way or have arrived in Darwin, Australia.

That's because it's AI.  The Facebook post explicitly states "In the meantime, enjoy a fun AI mockup of Fred Noonan taking a sun sight one morning during the world flight." I didn't think it even really looked like him.

Of course...and who would be taking a picture of FN while they were in the air?  Duh....

The navigator's table was only used on the first attempt at circumnavigation, which ended in disaster at Luke Field.

On the first attempt, AE had Paul Mantz as copilot, Harry Manning as the radio man, and Fred Noonan with her on the flight to Hawaii. Mantz was left there. Manning was only going to continue to Australia. Fred was signed up for the whole trip.

After the crash at Luke Field, it was only AE and FN in the plane, so there was no need for the navigator's table. The window was taken out and replaced with an aluminum patch panel in Miami.

AI either has not read the Ameliapedia or it does not trust it as a source. <sigh>
