Satellite Imagery of Niku (Lagoon)
« on: June 03, 2017, 12:27:28 AM »

This evening Ric I noticed the new satellite image taken of the island. From the picture on Facebook I do have to say its a good image. Something that really stuck out was towards the middle to middle right of the lagoon... there is that dark shade of blue when you know your getting close to the edge of shallow water in a lake or ocean. Anyway, was wandering in the past several expeditions to the island did the team of scuba divers happen to search that particular area or is this something that is in the works for the upcoming expedition? It would be neat to have a 3D layout of how the lagoon is structured underneath the water. Also, with your new bulletin in regards to the landing gear...question for the experts...Okay..we know that she had to be out of water to make radio contact. If the Bevington Object is the landing gear as many of us agree that it is...what would it take without landing gears to move the plane with a massive wave or wind sheer? How bad would the wind have to blow in order to move the Lockheed Electra without any fuel over into the lagoon area. Is it possible...Just something to think about?
