Summary of Niku 1 expedition makes a good read...

The island is often portrayed in the media as being a pristine, untouched place but this report confirms shes actually been rode-hard-and-put-away-wet more than once...the proverbial village bicycle (everyones had a go at one time or other).

•   Arundel coconut plantation venture in 1800's
•   Norwich City wreck
•   British colony
•   U.S. Coast Guard LORAN station
•   Land surveying expeditions
•   Part of U.S. missile test range 1971
•   Tighar expeditions
•   Various visitors
