USS Arizona Memorial - after the tours
« on: September 29, 2013, 08:27:39 AM »

My wife received this link from her aunt and kindly passed it on to me this morning.  It is very moving.

So, I pause and post this in tribute to all who have valiantly served us for the cause of liberty -

"All gave some. Some gave all."

I don't recall when that saying came into use, but it is absolutely brilliant- concise, powerful, and memorable.

There is a reference to the expression in the "Story of the Purple Heart", "We have a motto that sums it all up - 'all gave some; some gave all,'" said Howard Osterkamp of Dent, commander of Chapter 3620 and a Korean War veteran.
