A nice article on the excitement in Utah about the rediscovery of AE's interrupted eastward flight cross-country:

Ric put together a pretty comprehensive list of AE's accomplishments and incidents a few years ago.  This one was already on the list.  I've added "Eureka, Utah" to the entry.

Dear Forum

For the Ameliaphile who needs another AE tidbit, this bit fleshes out her 1928 forced landing in Utah.

Interesting that even after the aircraft was trucked to Salt Lake City, Amelia chose to hang out in Eureka for a few days.  She seems to have had a genuine interest in, and a knack for connecting with folks.
