We've just been contacted by the webmaster for a website devoted to the history of the US AAF Base Air Depot at Langford Lodge:

"Initially run by the Lockheed Overseas Corporation in conjunction with a small number of United States Army Air Force personnel, Langford Lodge was one of four base air depots in the UK. Designated Base Air Depot No 3, AAF Station 597, it was allocated responsibility for the assembly, modification and repair of American aircraft operated by both American and British forces."

What was the reason for the contact from them Marty? For us to know of their site, or did they want our help in some matter. (Your post didn't clarify it.)

They asked for a link exchange.  We are not set up for that.  This board seemed to me to be a good place to provide a link to a website about "historic aircraft."  Whether there is archaeology to be done on the old airfield is an open question.
