Amazing photos! It looks like everyone had a great time! :) *Whistles* Woooo, those crabs are huge! O_O Especially the coconut ones... Wow!

Thanks so much for sharing the link, Marty!

Great pics!! Seeing the island from this pespective gives us (me) an entirely different outlook on things. As another great adventurer once put it, 'magnificent desolation". I cant wait for some of the results to come out. Try to invision Niku 73 years ago, with a fairly recent shipwreck, and you might be able to imagine what AE and Fred witnessed.
My congratulations to the entire expedition team.

In image 108 (1672) ??? what is on the right  of the masked Booby that looks like a piece of chain?

The thing that looks like a chain is actually the center stem of a palm frond without the "leaves".  Does look a bit man made, but its not.

I'm glad each and every one of you team members had a great time and returned home safely! :) It seems like a lot of you found interesting objects (good job for that)! I enjoyed reading the updates; anxious if ya'll would find the "smoking gun". Too bad the ROV couldn't track down that wire again; that would've really been something!

Andrew M McKenna

there is a bunch of stuff off to the DNA lab for analysis, so the smoking gun may yet show up on our doorstep.

Awesome! Let us know when ya'll get the results!

Those bones! Are they from the pig experiment, surely not Human?

Ric Gillespie

Chris Johnson

kind of thought they were but just had to ask the question.  Thanks for the reply.

Chris Johnson

Interesting to see the poor condition as reported of the pig bones.  Just goes to show how harsh the island environment is.
