Hi Monty,

Do you happen to know what percentage of the membership fee Tighar nets from the online store vs calling Tighar with my credit card number? Or even sending a physical check?

I am a little obsessed with the outrageous fees that banks charge, and I would rather renew via the mechanism that puts the most money in Tighar's hands.

Thanks!

Jon - I am not an expert at any of this on-line stuff (Just ask my tech support, AKA daughter), but I do know this:

- When I send TIGHAR a physical check or money order, TIGHAR gets 100% of that money.

- If I call in with my credit card number, TIGHAR has to pay a very nominal processing fee to the credit card company.

- If I use #*$&#$(#*$^#*&$^ PayPal or the on-line store, PayPal takes a percentage, but I do not know what it is.

So I usually send a check. Everyone is free to give in the manner that's most convenient to them, but giving is the most important thing, as you are planning to do.

Bless your heart Jon.  Paypal (via the TIGHAR Store) and a called-in credit card cost us about the same - 2 or 3%.  For a mailed-in check we get it all.

Ric.. After stooging around the TIGHAR Store for an hour I finally heard a loud pop and was able to get the store to sell me a Researcher Membership! I've been trying to get in a position to be able join... Looking forward to the goodies!

Thank you Brad.

Let's not forget, Questions are cheap (free in the TIGHAR Forums) but answers are expensive.

Sending TIGHAR a nice Christmas season membership application or outright donation will do a lot for our cause - and we all hope Niku VIII is "the one." I'm debating whether I should wrap my next donation ... no, probably not, I suck at wrapping gifts.
