One way of displaying images is to provide the URL for a website where they are hosted:

See Walter Runck's post in this thread for a hint about how to attach images to a post.

Bruce Thomas gave a tutorial, with attached illustrations, in another thread.

You can add an image by uploading a file with the "Additional Options" icon below the editing window.  They don't appear in the preview, but will once it is posted.

Testing ...

Test result: Yes, it uploads OK.  But the image can't be placed into a post in a particular location.

Still, it's something I didn't know about the Forum.  Thanks, Walter!

Looks like the forum handles uploaded attachments differently according to the file type.  A .jpg was displayed automatically and also included as an attachment, but a notepad .txt just showed up as an attached file that had to be clicked on.

Safer to send an URL to hac.vanasten@gmail.com since by uploading  diagrams & especially two-line formulas incurr distortion. If you insist however, I will try to process.

Attachments don't seem to make it to the Most Recent Posts view.  If that's how you read the forum, don't expect to see pictures or other files unless you go to the actual thread.
