Title: Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Post by: Daniel Paul Cotts on January 11, 2011, 01:07:59 AM
The January 2011 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine has an article about the 1933 Arctic flight of Charles and Anne Lindbergh when they charted a North Atlantic route to Europe for Pan Am. The featured item of the article is a pair of snowshoes that illustrate Charles' meticulous preparations for emergencies.

Different personalities - different approaches.

“Charles could have had any co-pilot he wanted ... He had taught Anne to fly, and they were still young marrieds. She worked hard to learn Morse code and navigation, and was a true co-pilot.”

Great article.  Thanks, Dan!

I have a category on the wiki (http://tighar.org/wiki/Category:Survival_equipment) to collect notes about the things AE and FN may have had on board NR16020.
