Title: Nat Geo Recycled
Post by: Ric Gillespie on December 21, 2020, 08:15:44 AM
Disney (https://sunriseread.com/disney-premieres-for-january-2021-get-your-popcorn-ready/127706/), owner of 73% of National Geographic Partners, is recycling the 2019 "Expedition Amelia" documentary on January 22, 2021.

"If you like sharks, among the Disney + documentaries this month we have three related to sharks.
In addition, it also premieres a documentary about the American aviator Amelia Earhart and her disappearance in the Pacific Ocean, where it is pointed out that Earhart lost his life as a castaway on an island."

Just a couple of problems.  It's hardly a "premiere" and they can't seem to make up their mind about Amelia's gender.

Anyway. the show includes lots of good TIGHAR screen time but stand by for another round of questions about the mysterious fragmented skull.

I guess they mean it is a "premiere" on their channel.

Is there anything in entertainment that Disney doesn't own?

You may have seen how they are now stiffing an author for his contractual payment: https://www.sfwa.org/disney-must-pay/

Do we know if it is the original 2 hour program, or the edited 1 hour program?

Is it only on Disney +, or regular Disney?  It has been available on Disney + for on demand streaming for the past year.
