Title: Occult Information
Post by: Ric Gillespie on August 21, 2019, 02:52:12 PM
New TIGHAR member Robert Wealleans has found what appears to be an example of "occult information" in Mr. Fisher's description of the wreck he pulled up.  Fisher said there were "parachute cords" streaming from the large door on the left-hand side of the aircraft - and yet Miller's aid, Lt. Donald Haynes who was present when Miller boarded the aircraft, claimed that Miller remarked on the absence of parachutes to which Lt. Col. Baessell reportedly replied, "What the matter Glenn?  Do you want to live forever?"  So parachute cords steaming from the door - like the three-bladed propeller - seemed to not match the Muller aircraft.
But on page 37 of the C-64 Pilot's Manual  (http://www.avialogs.com/index.php/item/56039-t-o-01-155cb-1-pilot-s-flight-operating-instructions-for-c-64a-airplanes.html) you'll find the notation pictured below referencing the SCR-578 Emergency Radio.
Mr. Fisher could not reasonably have known about the parachute equipped radio stowed above and forward of the left cabin door.
This significantly increases the credibility of Fisher's account.
