Title: Amelia Earhart and Makeup
Post by: Karen Hoy on September 13, 2018, 12:22:58 PM
The quote below refers to an early 1920s crash that Amelia Earhart and Neta Snook survived in Earhart's Kinner Airster.

"Earhart had thought to cut off the ignition switch before impact, reducing the chance of an explosion. She'd also apparently thought to bring makeup, which she began applying as soon as it was clear that they had survived the crash. 'We have to look nice,' Earhart told Snook as she sat in the cockpit of the busted Airster, 'when the reporters come.'"
