Title: A Brief History of the Lockheed Electra
Post by: Joe Cerniglia on November 03, 2014, 05:45:58 AM
Lockheed Martin has a nice piece on the history of the Electra aircraft (http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/100years/stories/electra.html).  Some interesting trivia is featured.  I'd never realized the last scene in the movie Casablanca (http://youtu.be/FDhGS4EJS8M) ("not until the plane leaves safely...etc.") was a Lockheed Electra Model 10.  There was no doubt once the Electra had vanished into the clouds that Ilsa and Laszlo would arrive safely and change the course of history.  Enjoy.

Very cool that an Electra was in the final scene of Casablanca. Thanks for links, Joe! Interesting reads.
