Title: R-1830 Exhaust Manifold
Post by: Doug Ledlie on April 22, 2014, 03:23:52 PM
Wondering about the (stainless) exhaust manifold found in lagoon, specifically if it could have Sydney Island C-47 provenance rather than B-24 (both 1830 powered).  Was there a data plate or part number on the recovered manifold or is being constructed of s.s. the telling factor for determining source?

May ultimately be moot but could also weigh for/against other items possibly coming from Sydney I guess.

Photos attached appear to be too close to tell, at least to my untrained eye

The manifold did have a part number on it that indicated B-24 rather than C-47.

I'll see if I can dig up a photo of it.
