A rather strange looking aircraft originally designed and built at our local aerodrome at Old Sarum. Yes it actually flies! The Edgley EA7 Optica is back in production after a number of years and setbacks. Designed originally as an observation/spotter plane as an alternative to expensive high maintenance helicopters but now a favourite with weekend Biggles wannabees. The approach to the airfield, circa 1917, is directly over our house, Old Sarum castle and then onto the grass strip, if all goes well.

Looks like the modern take on the WWI pusher DH2.

I remember this aircraft from a few (quite a few) years back - the police were said to be interested in them as a cost-effective alternative to 'copters. Good to see it's still around.
