Title: Betty's Notebook
Post by: Tarik S. Khan on June 22, 2013, 01:55:58 PM
Hi! I enjoy reading the postings in this message board. I had a question I wanted to put out there. . . I was wondering if there was any formal breakdown of the contents of Betty's Notebook. I know Ric and his team have visited and corresponded with that sweet lady many times over the years, is there any video of her reminiscing/ and or reviewing and going over her entries in the notebook?

One of the things I noticed as I read through Sound of Wings by Mary Lovell is that in a letter to her mother a few years before her disappearance, Amelia referenced some personal effects in a briefcase that she wanted her mother to burn if she didn't make it across the Pacific (in a planned Hawaii to California trip) (page 210). In Betty's notebook she noted the voice in the broadcasts requested for George to get the suitcase from her closet. I was wondering if anyone thought there might be any correlation between the two. Any significance to those items, did they ever turn up?

BTW is there any reference to those coordinates Betty recorded?

Thanks!

Tarik, there's plenty of reading material on the TIGHAR website to help you answer your questions. You might start in the Ameliapedia (http://tighar.org/wiki/Ameliapedia) and key in "Betty" in its search box.

Tarik, I purchased "Betty's Notebook", a DVD video of Betty's review of her notes. You can find it in the TIGHAR store. I found it very interesting, and I hope you do too!
