This interesting object is near one of the locations that was indicated as an area of interest in the 1937 photos.
I realize the last Niku expedition had GPS problems due to solar flares. Perhaps the next expedition can find and check this area out.
I named the parts 'Fuselage', 'Wing, and 'Tail' to help with clarification. I realize that this could all be a case of apophenia and/or pareidolia on my part :) but I wanted to share this with the forum to see what everyone else thinks.
Google Earth Coordinates: 4°39'37.19"S 174°32'26.46"W
(Image is dated Nov 2014)
(Oh, and this object also shows up on the Earth Explorer (http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/) site with the image dated 2015.)

That was one of the easiest objects to identify. It's a big fallen tree.

My bet: tree trunk.

Awww, it's my 'apophenia/pareidolia' then.... Thanks for the clarification. :)

We're actually the same person.

I won't comment on that one Ric. It was a nice observation from Stacey, though.

Thanks, Bob, that's sweet :)
I feel kinda silly for posting it, but I'd feel sillier if it turned out that the object was 'important' and I HADN'T posted it.
Have a wonderful day :)

It's always worth checking. Thanks.
