The landing was--and the simulation is--a great work of art!

AE's was better, they walked out on semi dry land.
But the rescue services were a little more lacking.

Was only thinking of this the other day and wondering how it compared to AE's possible/probable landing on the reef.
I am no aviator, just a passenger so how difficult was the landing on Gardner?
"Landing on the Reef?" (http://tighar.org/wiki/Landing_on_the_Reef%3F) gives some basic information.
If any of the post-loss radio messages are authentic, then AE managed to land somewhere. If she had landed on land, the plane would almost certainly have been found by now. If she "landed" in the water, she couldn't transmit. Landing on a reef seems to be a reasonable guess--it would give her time to transmit some messages but would allow the aircraft to be swept off the reef, making it hard to find now.
