Title: The world appears to have gone crazy?
Post by: Chris Owens on September 16, 2013, 05:06:15 PM
I'm an infrequent visitor here, so forgive me if this has already been explained, but what I've gathered recently is that an individual, for unknown reasons, is actively trying to destroy TIGHAR through legal action, and that, nevertheless, TIGHAR supporters are, here on these boards, attempting to engage in polite discourse with that individual.

To me, lacking whatever back story there must be, that whole scenario goes beyond "amusingly bizarre" and approaches  "barking mad."   What am I missing here?  Could someone fill me in?

Hi Chris

I support Tighar 100% Why ? Because until the Bevington object came to light there was no evidence within reason that Earhart even landed on that reef, Tighar hypothesis was that they landed on that part of the reef and lived as castaways, You made that up  :)

Then after reviewing old photographs Jeff Glickman notices the object in Bevington photo further research revels it's shape probable size and it happens to be in an area that Tighar speculated the Electra went over edge, This is were it pieces together for me anyway

So we have Tighar Hypothesis of reef landing, Then there is the Bevinginton object, and then an anomaly that appears to have slid from right under Nessie  to were it lays now.

Lets be honest Ric would not admit it but it's dam good evidence considering the anomaly only come to light in march, you could pretty much say there is wreckage anywhere in that area so why would you go from donating 1 million to trying to retrieve 1 million in damages an lies ?

Did Tim foresee this happening ? and thought yer i'll sue Ric an co, Public will be to caught up in hype to acknowledge it ?

Is it just Boredom or is it more sinister than that ?

Am i even answering your question properly ?

Haha my Bad, No one knows why Tim has took this action but time will tell i hope

Thanks

Chris - the short answer to your question is, "Yes."

The long answer, well ... I leave that up to a higher authority to fully and finally resolve.

Folks here know that I am, from time to time, wont to quote The Bard in a vain attempt to appear scholarly.  I offer the following passages in answer to your concern.

"O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!"
Julius Caesar, Act 1, Scene 3

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in ’t."
Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 2

And my favorite, from the Scottish play.
"Blow, wind! Come, wrack!
At least we’ll die with harness on our back."
Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5

My personal favorite, and highly relevant to the current legal kerfluffle:

"Gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
Henry V, Act 4, Scene 3

"In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the TIGHAR;"

Okay, okay, it's getting a little deep.

Moving right along.....

Okay, I'm officially a (small potatoes) donor now.

Chris, I am afraid you may be right!  "Barking mad" indeed!
LOL!

I've decided to keep faith with your judgment Ric.  If you allow him to remain, so be it...

I commend you and the other posters who remain civil with him, I would likely not be so accommodating were I in your position.

Respectfully,

JB

Never mind...you either get it or you don't.  It wasn't a call to violence.
