Amelia Earhart Symposium

Kenton Spading, TIGHAR member and co-author of “Amelia Earhart’s Shoes: Is the Mystery Solved?” is helping to organize an upcoming symposium of Earhart search enthusiasts in Eugene, Oregon. The event runs May 2 to May 6.  He has asked that this bulletin be posted to the Forum.

You are invited to attend the Amelia Earhart-Fred Noonan Symposium. The Symposium will be a part of The Archaeology Channel (TAC) Conference on Cultural Heritage Media (www.archaeologychannel.org/conference), which itself is a key activity of TAC International Film Festival (archaeologychannel.org/festival) in downtown Eugene, Oregon. 

The Symposium is an opportunity to connect with Earhart researchers and Niku 2017 expedition participants.

TAC Festival begins Wednesday evening, May 2, 2018 with the Festival Banquet and Keynote Address delivered by Dr. Fred Hiebert, National Geographic archaeologist, and fellow participant in Niku 2017.  The Earhart Symposium is scheduled for Saturday, May 5.  TAC Conference presentations overall will run May 3-5.   Festival film screenings (selected from 800 films submitted from dozens of countries) take place May 3-6. Food, beverages and live music will take place at the Festival’s Saturday Social the evening of May 5 and the Festival concludes with the Awards Reception the evening of Sunday, May 6.
