I understand she was commissioned in 1930. We all know, of course, that during her service life she was involved with the Earhart disappearance. The last information I have indicates she was sold to Patapsco Scrap in 1950. Seems like a pretty short life; only 20 years. Was that pretty much the end of the line for her? Or did she escape the torches and go on to do other things?
