Jim was the team medic on Niku IIII in 2001.  A great guy and a lot of fun.  He had a knack for thinking about survival, and when the bade snapped on his large knife, he made a spear out of it and took to practicing his spear throwing ability. 

At that point, we started calling him Daktari.

Glad to see him in the news, I haven't heard much about him in the last 10 years.
