Presently in DE where my home is.  We have places on Lake Ontario near Sackets Harbor and Daytona Beach Shores for the winter.

"Herndon" is familiar to me but I can't place it.  I'm wondering if we have met?  Were you a Thud jock?

Well you obviously didn't pick up the "y'all" in DE so you must have picked it up in Daytona.

No, I flew Hueys. The executive airport in Orlando is named Herndon Field.

Hueys, huh?  Maybe we have met.  1965-1966 SAR out of NKP, UDorn and CAP out of Luang prabang and Lima Site 20A for Air America - A-1E.  We'd allow a Huey pilot in the Sandy Box every once in awhile. For one beer, that is.   ;D

I'm afraid that wasn't it either. I was in IV Corps Viet Nam, Soc Trang, in 1968 and III Corps, Di An, in 1969.

One beer huh. We had an Air Force FAC team assigned to our Air Cav Squadron at Di An. They worked out a deal with the F-4 jocks that they worked with. We were to let them fly as gunner in the front seat of our Cobras in exchange for a flight in their F-4s. We had one pilot fly with us and never heard from them again. I guess we should have charged him a beer and gotten a little something out of the deal.

You must be a couple of years older than I am to have been there way back then. Things got real interesting in 1968.
