Amelia 1936 National Air Race Entry Form Surfaces
« on: June 29, 2018, 05:18:06 PM »

A stack of entry forms for the 1936 National Air Race in Los Angeles were found in a box in an attic.

Among the 64 entry forms is the one Amelia Earhart sent in to enter Electra in the air race. The form has serial numbers for the engines and propellers - all data that is available elsewhere. The aircraft flight hours information may be interesting to compare with the time-line history of the Electra that has been put together.

Yeah, it claims the aircraft has 50 hours on it.  The August 7, 1936 Inspection Report says the aircraft has the total flight time as 20 hours.  30 hours seems like a lot in less than a month, even with a trip from California.
