Devastating Fiji storm Winston
« on: February 20, 2016, 01:10:24 PM »

Winston is a devastating storm. What might befall the Nai’a, and Fiji Princess if there, and the various Niku expedition crew. Our thoughts should be with them and their families.
All Fiji power and communications outage. Fiji and outlying islands affected. Public curfew. Sustained winds up to around 185mph, gusts up to 224mph. The most destructive storm ever recorded in the entire southern hemisphere. Luckily its scheduled to turn south, though last for days. Had it meandered north Niku just might have tasted its anger.
