Title: Always remember LTM
Post by: Monty Fowler on November 23, 2014, 11:40:44 AM
Some of us more ancient forumites (yes, I remember the dinosaurs) sign off our postings with LTM. A quick search of the TIGHAR website reveals that this stands for "Love To Mother," which, for awhile, was thought by some in The Earhart Conspiracy Theory Industrial Complex to prove that Amelia had been held by the Japanese during WWII and then secretly repatriated to the United States.

Ummm hmmmmm.

Until some TIGHARs put boots on the ground, did the research, and demonstrated that the telegram was entirely something else, although it did have an eerie Earhart connection.

Which always serves to remind me - and hopefully others - that the Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan Mystery is a journey. It may never be solved to everyone's satisfaction (TECTIC will see to that), but I believe that TIGHAR, with its slow, dogged, by-the-book methods, eventually will solve this seven decade old riddle. There are going to be a lot more wrong turns and blind alleys, but we will, in the end, get there.

LTM, who tries not to run into closed doors,

For the benefit of those who don't like to fish for themselves, here is a link to the educational FAQ itself (http://tighar.org/Projects/Earhart/Archives/Forum/FAQs/ltm.htm).  :)
