Some of you may be familiar with the story of the rubber duck cargo or the Nike shoe cargo that went overboard at sea and the study, based on where those things washed up, of ocean currents.
Has anyone put thought/effort into searching out where the debris (that floated) would have washed ashore?
What, if any, could have floated off into the Pacific from the crash? How about a message in a bottle? Or a message in a coconut?
(are there coconuts there?)
Perhaps there are some clues lying in wait along a desolate shore of Australia or elsewhere.

Your question seems to assume a crash at sea - the official verdict of Earhart's fate - but there was never any evidence that the flight ended with a crash at sea and TIGHAR's investigation has uncovered abundant evidence that the Electra made a relatively safe landing on the reef at Gardner Island (now Nikumaroro). Flotsam from the aircraft's subsequent destruction due to wave action does appear to have been found by the Pacific islanders who were later settled there.
