Instrument Panel Gauges
« on: June 08, 2019, 01:25:22 PM »

Several nights ago I stumbled upon a video online that showed part of the instrument panel of the Electra missing prior to Amelia's second flight. My question for the experts is why would you remove this panel and what were the gauges used in this particular panel that was missing. Let me know...thanks!!!!

The video ( as usual) is wrong.  That photo is from July 1936 at about the time the airplane was delivered.  The hole in the instrument is for the Sperry Gyropilot (automatic pilot) which had not yet been installed.

Good man!

Sorry about the hassles.

I regret that the system did not give you a meaningful error message to that effect.

I'm not the author of the Forum software--it is from Simple Machines, as per the link at the very bottom of each page in the Forum.  I don't want to hack the core scripts--that makes updating more difficult.  I will edit the first post in the tutorial thread asking people to check file sizes if they are having trouble uploading.  I will also look in the configuration files for SMF and PHP to see what limits are defined there.
