Federated States of Micronesia

Site #7
Plate 8: Site #7.
This is a Mitsubishi A6M5 “Zero” that retains its wings and the cockpit area of the fuselage; the engine as usual has become detached at the firewall and the after part of the fuselage has been unbolted, and apparently removed from the site; it was nowhere to be found. The fixed wingtips have also been unbolted. The engine has a top air intake, and one wing displays a cannon blister. This site, like #s 5 and 6, lies southeast of the runway, at latitude 9° 29.142′ N, longitude 138° 04.496′ E.
